I grew up in a family of Jehovah's Witnesses. It wasn't until my 40s until I came to know the real "truth" of the scriptures. God had brought me low with an illness and I had time on my hands, time to read the scriptures and investigate what I had been taught from childhood. As I read the scriptures, fear began to grow in my heart as I learned that I had been taught a lie. It took a year or two for the scales to drop from my eyes and to overcome the fear pounded into me by the JW teachings. Everything I believed was based on a lie. I thank God for that painful illness that changed my life and brought me to the real "truth" which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

No they are not right, since they use their own twisted version of the bible that does not stand up to scrutiny to the original texts. You can read quite a bit about JW here.

You cannot be a new covenant Christian and be led by the indwelling Spirit and be a legalist ( follow OT Law) at the same time. Jesus fulfilled the Law and to try to live by it still, denies Jesus's work on the Cross and the Spirit within you.
We can do _nothing on our own to serve God. Following laws gives you room to boast (look how much _I did for the church), whereas focusing on Christ in your life keeps you on the right path.
Legalism will condemn you every time and you'll be sad or angry or disappointed that someone said you didn't _do enough. No one can judge you anymore because of Christ's work for you and for all of us.
If you believe in Christ and let the Spirit guide you you'll always be right in the eyes of the Lord.
No one on Earth has the right or the power to judge you which is why many church doctrines lead you astray, like the Witnesses for example.

Before I answer the simple question which was asked, I want to compliment @Jim Gordon for his open-mindedness and maturity, I mean, relative to his fellows. I respect that. The fact that you are actively engaging in this discussion, doing some research, to me that is very encouraging. I urge you to keep it up, because on that trajectory you will certainly meet the truth.

Ok, I will answer the question in two sentences, then substantiate it at length: The Watchtower know NOTHING about Armageddon, nor do they know ANY TRUTH. They are therefore NOT among those who know the truth, let alone the only ones who know the truth.

The detailed exposition:
The Watchtower vendetta against our Great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Now, to be fair on the cult, let's turn to their OFFICIAL material.

Acts 20:28 ‘Pay attention to yourselves and to all flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed YOU overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son].’ NWT (with references), page 1342.

Acts 20:28 ‘Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.’ KJV.
On page 1580, under Appendix 6C, they have the temerity to brazenly declare:
“Grammatically, this passage could be translated as in the King James Version and Douay Version, “with his own blood”. That has been a difficult thought for many.

Then they rumble on about words. See 1 Tim 6:3 “If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth…” NIV.
And 2 Tim 2:14 “Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.” NIV

Then they shamelessly conclude, on the same page 1580:
The New World Translation renders the passage literally, adding “Son” in brackets after loiov to read: “with the blood of his own [Son].”

It is regrettable that these demented minds who sought to change the Word still have blind, faithful followers, who so dread to question the lies that they’d rather die in that cult than get saved.

On page 213 of their poisonous book, Reasoning from the Scriptures, they have this to say, concerning John 20:28:

‘John 20:28 (RS) reads: “Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’”
There is no objection to referring to Jesus as “God”, if this is what Thomas had in mind. Such would be in harmony with Jesus’ own quotation from the Psalms in which powerful men, judges, were addressed as “gods”.

How preposterous! This cult is interchanging “God” and “god”, all because they want to deny Jesus’ Divinity. And they tell us what was in Thomas’ mind, straight from their own heads.

But they forget one thing – his Divinity is not dependant on majority vote or universal acceptance. He is Divine. Period. Whether people choose to worship Ashtoreth and Molech or not, God remains God.

All this is child’s play, when you compare with this, their official position:
1.	YOU DON’T NEED JESUS CHRIST’S SUBSTITUTIONARY DEATH TO BE SAVED. INSTEAD, YOU ONLY NEED THE WATCHTOWER.

You say I’m making this up? What does this mean, then:

Awake Magazine, January 2010, page 10 had an article on ‘Judgment Day’. (extracted from Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, 1989. page 338)
‘During Judgment Day, Satan and the demons will be restrained from influencing human activity (Revelation 20:1-3). However, at the end of Judgment Day, Satan will be allowed to test the loyalty of every human living. Those who remain loyal to God will have passed the test which Adam and Eve failed. They will be judged worthy of receiving everlasting life in a restored Paradise earth. Those who choose to rebel against God will be permanently destroyed, as will Satan and the demons – Revelation 20:7-9.

Judging “the dead.”
………………………..
Will the judgment of the resurrected ones be based on what they did before their death? No. The bible teaches that “he who has died has been acquitted from his sin. (Romans 6:7). So, like those who survive the end of this system, those resurrected to life on earth will be judged “according to their deeds during Judgment Day. (Revelation 20:12,13) Depending on the final outcome of their actions, this will turn out to be either a resurrection that results in everlasting life or a resurrection that results in destruction.
……………

Just imagine your joy at being reunited with resurrected loved ones and growing to human perfection with them!
God will allow Satan to test the loyalty of human creatures at the end of Judgment Day. But there is no need to be anxious or fearful. By the end of Judgment Day, all living will be fully equipped to face this final test……………..’

A simple analysis simply says that whether you obey Jesus Christ or not now, so long as you’re not in the 144k, you will face the real test after the millennium.

So why not live as we please now, then obey the Torah during the millennium when there is no tempter? Who can possibly sin when the tempter has been removed?

So this satanic teaching is that people should miss the atoning sacrifice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ, and be doomed when He returns to gather His elect.

For the record, during the millennium, there will be no human alive on earth. Only the devil. This is what was symbolized by the scapegoat on the Day of Atonement. The lie that the Watch Towerers will go on a preaching campaign during the millennium will backfire.

2.	Actually, God is a fraudster and a liar! He lied about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ cannot be trusted to tell the truth either.

I’m ‘creating’? Okay, read: Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, 1989. page 217-218.
Concerning the resurrection of our Great God and Saviour, this is what the Russelites have to say:
‘It is true that Jesus appeared in a physical form to his disciples after his resurrection. But on certain occasions, why did they not at first recognize him? (Luke 24:15-32; John 20:14-16) On ONE occasion, (my own emphasis), for the benefit of Thomas, Jesus appeared with the physical evidence of nail prints in his hands and a spear wound in his side. (Meaning that this was a ‘make-up’ body to deceive Thomas. Hook and crook method to make him believe. This bracketed portion is my own comment).
……………………..
Disposing of Jesus’ physical body at the time of his resurrection presented no problem to God. Interestingly, although the physical body was no left by God in the tomb (evidently to strengthen the conviction of the disciples that Jesus had actually been raised), the linen cloths in which it had been wrapped were left there; yet, the resurrected Jesus always appeared fully clothed. – John 20:6,7.’

Here ends the full quote. So, in short, the body that Thomas saw was a manufactured one, expressly for the purpose of deceiving. And the angels at the grave lied. So did our Father.

Now, if these guys serve a lying god, what makes you think they can be trusted to speak the truth? And who is the father of lies? John 8:44.

The Purpose of the cult.

It is important to appreciate, by close scrutiny, the purpose of the cult which calls itself witnesses.

Their primary object, and I mean primary (they have other supporting objectives to this primary one), is to deny the Divinity of Jesus Christ. And to lead others to do the same.

The very starting point is to examine WHO translated their version, the NWT. It was translated by seven (7) people, none of whom had any clue on Biblical Greek. Check this out:

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Jehovah%20Witnesses/new_world_translation.htm

These crooks knew their fraud would not stand any preliminary scrutiny. To try to hide that, they pretended to be humble. Claiming they wanted credit to go to God. Blasphemy! God has NEVER used anonymous messengers, check this from Genesis through to Revelation, and most messengers actually begin with a short introduction - Paul, Peter, James, John, Isaiah, Jonah... Look at the bible. So which god uses 'anonymous' messengers?

You guessed it right! The devil. So these people pretend to speak for our God, when they are actually messengers of the god of the world.

A more detailed analysis of these tricksters and fraudsters in the devil's service is as follows:

"The next shocking revelation our investigation revealed was the Watchtower's counterfeit Bible, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. The Society translated its own version of the Holy Scriptures in the 1950's, making additions, deletions and changes as necessary to support their unorthodox doctrines and beliefs. Further, the Watchtower Society refuses to identify the members of the Translating Committee for their Bible, stating that they wish the credit for their great literary work to go to God, rather than men. However, the obvious reason they wished the members of the Translating Committee to remain anonymous is that they do not have the linguistic credentials for such an undertaking.

We found out from a book entitled Crisis of Conscience, written by former Jehovah's Witness Governing Body member Raymond Franz, that the Translating Committee consisted of Nathan Knorr, Frederick Franz, Albert Schroeder, and George Gangas. According to Franz, none of the aforementioned members of the Watchtower Society had any formal educational background in the original ancient Bible languages. The only exception being Frederick Franz, who is reported to have studied modern Greek for two years in college and claimed to be self-taught in Hebrew. In addition, we viewed a video tape entitled "Witnesses of Jehovah," produced by Jeremiah Films, that contained the testimony of Dr. J. R. Mantey, an eminent Greek scholar. Some of Dr. Mantey's statements concerning the New World Translation were "A shocking mistranslation," "Is biased and deceptive," "Deliberately changed words, to support their doctrines," "Obsolete," "Can't get the truth from it," etc."

The truth, when it concerns man's salvation, always has a way of coming out.

While they have been taught that the two-piece crucifix and the crown was a devil worship symbol (Reasoning from the Scriptures, pages 89-93), (which is true), they vehemently deny that their founder was a fanatic of that crucifix. Check this out.

What is Freemasonry? That opens a completely new chapter.

No. They utterly distort the truth of God's Word, even doing so in THEIR translation of the Bible, the "New World Translation."

My opinion on Watch Towerites and their many false teachings though, they may sound like scripture are in fact structured and taught to be received as such. One must understand that the Watch Tower is the source of their theological beliefs (via new light or revelation which is ever changing to cover exposed mistakes and errors ), and not what is called their bible.

The central doctrine of the witnesses is their blind faith in the organization (wts) whose authority can never be questioned.
If the society states that blue is now orange and has always been orange or say 3+3=33 they are correct to the captives within the walls of kingdom halls, those outside saying wrong, is just more proof that their teaching is correct.

Consider two Watch Tower Society prophecy claims!
1. That Jesus returned to earth in 1914
2. The Watch Tower Society was hand picked by Christ as God's only channel of communication to man in 1919.

If Christ "arrived" in 1914 why do Jehovah Witnesses continue to partake of the bread and wine? shouldn't they have stopped in 1914?

If indeed only they are anointed to speak for God shouldn't their prophecies and doctrine be 100% correct from the start as a true sign?
Instead we see demented old men who consider themselves prophets covering their mistakes with new light corrections via their get out of all errors scripture Proverbs 4:18 (okay maybe minor doctrinal changes updates) But not the wholesale 180 degree reversals on MAJOR doctrine that is so common here within only 130 years of setting up shop!

What kind of confidence can you have in an organization that rejected it's founder (Charles Taze Russell 1879-1916) And the first two presidents ( Joseph "judge" Rutherford 1916-1942) when will they via new light dis-fellowship and reject their current seer and his teachings??

Consider this 63 year early rewrite of Watch Tower history, for a moment.
What happened to the poor souls who died in their sins truly believing the lies the Society was teaching them at the time, (do they get a do over or maybe something very special at kingdom hall )???.

There are good people within the J W, but to escape the society's evil organizational stranglehold doctrines that are made very hard for just one reason! The captives must be willing to scale the walls and leave all behind, pickup their cross and follow Christ in true freedom. Bottom line does anyone outside of this outfit, really believe that GOD would partner (share HIS glory) with a man centered outfit from the holy city of Brooklyn !!

You can check in any time you like, But you can never leave....

Do your own consumer report before you buy into this doctrine:
What do most of their own ex captives say about the watch tower society

You have the FREEDOM to check, don't be lazy, precious souls hang in the balance and on whose hands will their blood be????

Matthew 18:7
Woe to the one through Whom the stumbling block comes

Ephesians 5:6-7
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

1. The witnesses believe there is no rapture but revelations 3:10 is proof of a pre tribulation rapture.
2. They also believe that only the elect(144k), will go to heaven above earth but 1thess 4:16-17, says we all will be with the lord in the air.& rev 7:9-11 tells about all people being in heaven at the throne.
There are way too many inaccuracies within the witnesses belief system. God does not make mistakes which tells me they follow imperfect man which does NOT lead to everlasting life.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OUR WITNESS BROTHERS & SISTERS TO COME TO THE ACTUAL TRUTH & BEGIN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS INSTEAD OF MAN.

I was a witness for years until Jesus led me out of bondage. They teach you to never read other Christians doctrine so as not to be misled. The truth is the other Christians try to tell the actual truth.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are essentially a new form of an old heresy perpetuated by Arius (ca. AD 250–336) that Jesus is not divine.

This is contrary to more than just John chapter 1.

In John 12:37-47 -> Refers to Jesus fulfilling Isaiah 53:1 as Yahweh (God).

Hebrews 1 - describes Jesus and his throne as God.

Titus 2: 13: "while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."

2 Peter 1:1: “Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Isaiah the Prophet in chapter 9 said the Messiah would be God.

Isaiah 9:6: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Revelation 1:8: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Colossians 1:16-17: “For by Him [See context. This is speaking of Jesus] all things were created

Jesus tells people to pray to him as God:

John 14:12-13: 13: "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Also Psalm 24 is a Messianic psalm that ascribes the attributes of God to the Messiah.

The list goes on.

Read the other posts that spell out the problems with the JW translation and how they have been wrong about many issues.

The Church dealt with this mistake back in 200AD. Christ's divinity is a non-issue to the billions of Christians that exist today and the billions that have proceeded them.

The JW cult stands alone.
