It is a tricky scenario. Baptism symbolizes death to sin and resurrection to newness of life in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 4:6; Colossians 2:12). We do not see a second baptism in the Scriptures. But picking from the fact that baptism symbolizes death to sin, I suppose (I, not the Lord) that if one apostatizes, then effectively one is alive in sin again. Which follows that he has to die to that sin. And that can be done only through baptism. It must be clarified that Apostatizing is not merely sinning. It is a denial of Jesus Christ Himself, and a denial of the faith. Where we are talking of sinning generally, I say re baptism is totally out of the question (the Lord, not I). (See James 5:15; 1 John 2:1). Therefore I conclude that if one resurrects himself to sin, he has to die to sin and be buried. And we have only one way of achieving that - via FULL IMMERSION IN WATER. However, it must also be reiterated that such instances are EXTREMELY rare, because Scripture attests, at Hebrews 6:4-6, that for those who indulge in apostasy, their chance of returning to the faith is ZERO. Paul uses the word IMPOSSIBLE! I hope you find this useful. Bless.
If you are asking if as an Ex-Seventh Day who desires to be baptized as a born again believer -- I would say yes you can. I'm answering based on my own conversion as an Ex-JW. My original baptism at the age of 14 was not in line with the scriptures. And, as I came to realize I had not previously accepted Christ in his fullness and sufficiency. As a new believer, having been baptized by the Spirit, and in obedience I wanted to outwardly confess what was inwardly taking place. Christians receive the Spirit upon their conversion and in this sense all Christians have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. This means that they are saved and that they have all they need at that time to be able to live godly and holy lives. 1 Cor. 12:13. Hope this helps.
