I will keep my answer relatively short. I am referring to my own journey to the Lord.
I was not ready for 40 years and it did not matter what anyone said to me. I found bible bashing so called Christians really intrusive and annoying and their attitude generally pushed me further from the Lord, as the were usually just recruiting people for their church denomination/business. I disliked Christian door knockers as well as much as telemarketers.
I know many won't like to hear this but it is my personal journey and I cannot lie. One day I woke up sick of my life, sick of my habits, sick of my so called friends and needed a change but I also felt a strong attraction to Jesus Christ. I bounced from denomination to denomination for several years until I realised the Lord I was seeking was not there.
Eventually I found him in his Word and I was Baptised in a creek by a non denominational minister which I've never seen again and I am truly blessed to be in the Lords presence everyday. My life today is sanctified and I'm sure pleasing to God as much as a sinner can be,I am still working everyday to know more about him, how to please him and how to continue my personal relationship with him as my friend my God and my bridegroom.
So nobody lead me to the Lord except the Lord himself calling me and I suspect many others have come to God the same way. You don't always need to convince people however a pamphlet or just a few words at the right time can help someone to the Lord (Not your Church but the Lords Church or body of believers).
A great answer. We come to God one on one. God saves people not groups.
