Should we be completely focused on praising God when we are singing songs to God?

Sometimes I like to let my mine wander and think of other things when singing...it helps me relax, but is it disrespectful?

I am a song leader at our worship service psalms and hymns and spiritual songs are as much as any part of worship in the New Testament. When I was in the congregation it was easy to listen to others sing and my mind did wander. After I started leading I began paying more attention to the words to each song, and it made me realize how much these songs worship our God. Thats why there is no need for instruments in worship and they are not mentioned because your not there to be entertained. That's what happens when someone or a band is playing your being intertained, instead of singing to god yourself you let others sing to him for you. If we all sing together there is nothing more beautiful than gospel music with the voices of man that god gave us. I play guitar, and learning violin but give me my gospel acapela. The bible teaches us to make melody in our hearts.
