I follow the reformed faith. We believe that according to Scripture, Romans 9, that God calls those whom he wants to salvation. I think that this young man is simply showing bravado. If he is discussing predestination, then he is aware of God's call and is resisting it. I was called to salvation at age six, but in my fifties, due to circumstances outside my control, I became angry and openly rejected the Lord even though deep down inside, I knew I was wrong. As I've healed from those wounds, I see now that the Lord didn't reject me when I rejected him. Read Romans 9. I can't explain it better than St. Paul.
