He Is never identified in the Bible as such. Michael is the only angel ever called archangel in the KJV.

Great question, Julian!

Early Jewish and Christian writings say 4 archangels stood in God's presence: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel, but these writings are not inspired like the Bible is (God-breathed). By the way, Julian, Gabriel and Michael are the only 2 angels mentioned by name in the Bible.

Gabriel only appears by name in these two passages in Luke, Luke 1:10-20; 26-38 --In the first passage, Luke 1:10-20, the angel identified himself as Gabriel (Luke 1:19), but in the second, Luke 1:26, it is Luke who identified him as Gabriel.

The only other named angels in the New Testament are Michael the Archangel (Jude 1:9) and Abaddon (Revelation 9:11). No, Gabriel is not called an archangel in the Bible, so I don’t believe he is an archangel.
