Who are the descendants of Hagar's son, Ishmael?

God made a promise to Hagar that she would bear a son, and shall call him Ishmael. God further promised that Ishmael would be the father of multitudes. Who are those peoples?

Genesis 16:10 - 15

ESV - 10 The angel of the Lord also said to her, "I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude. 11 And the angel of the Lord said to her, "Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has listened to your affliction.

Let's first look to scripture for clues to this mystery and then apply that knowledge to world history and see what answers are most logical!
Genesis 16:2

Genesis 21:20 states that Ishmael was a skillful archer he had the skill of impalement arts in his DNA and that he settled in the soil barren wilderness of Paran, South of the Zin wilderness on the sinai peninsula.

He married an Egyptian there in Paran which is bordered by the Red sea and there is an old Arabian trade route running East to West through this wilderness area.

Genesis 25:16 Ishmael had twelve sons or twelve tribes and died at 137 years of age.

Genesis 25:18 These twelve tribes occupied the region of Havilah to Shur as in they were a mobile and wandering people in nature.
An important characteristic was that they lived in open hostility to their own relatives, a high propensity for violence against their own people!

Turning to history we're looking for a people whose characteristics include wandering barren desert lands in the middle East and war like tendencies toward other tribes?
And most importantly a revered fondness for the cold steel of the impalement arts, as handed down from Ishmael in his DNA.

Do such a people walk the earth today, yes I would submit for your consideration the nomadic Bedouin and Arabs in general.

Old Arabic saying: I against my brother, my cousin and I against the outsider.
