"Evil being attracted to church growth" makes every new person to a church a potential suspect. That's not good!

Peter and them must've really flinched when 3,000 "foreigners from every nation" heard the gospel preached and wanted to become a part of their ministry, all in a single day!

The church is the body of Christ. It consists of individual members joined together in one body. The Church is always under construction, being built by the Christ. It's built with materials that have been thrown out. Even the cornerstone was rejected.

(You have to remember that Jehovah already had a ministry to the world in place. Jehovah had shown His involvement with mankind through the nation of Israel. When the time was right, He sent His Son to be the new High Priest to Israel and to all the nations. Israel rejected Him. God didn't rescind the offer; it still stands. All are invited to come to Jesus and be given the rest that we all need (Matthew 11:28). Sinners are invited to bring Him their burdens (sin) and be given a new yoke, a much lighter load to carry. That's the tree we're called to find rest in).

I would never tell my children nor even their children's children that the Church was a place where they can expect to find evil at work. I don't think that's a good way to get anyone to take interest in the Church. That's my opinion in this. I think the Church is the place to meet with the Lord and the people He calls out of a dark world. Of course, there will be foreigners.
