Some Bible teachers teach that God's love is a love of pity or pathos. He loves us not because we have any value but because of the value that could have been but was ruined. Is this accurate? Why / why not?

Was I read 1st. Cor 3:16-18 and on the human body is a temple or a house if you will for the soul.
So that would put great value on the human being. This house is where our souls dwell and this soul will spend eternity in one of two places. Heaven or Hell.
We must present our bodies as a living sacrifice to be pleasing to God. The Christian should look like something desired by those that know not God.
