The verse in Romans Marco used answers the question correctly. We must show love in this dark world. We can only show what we have recieved. We love because He loved us first. What makes me help someone that is a complete strange? Love. Which ever way you try to dress that question it all boils down to LOVE.
Many people, especially those ignorant of the Bible, have the wrong understanding about what hypocrisy is. A person who sins or makes mistakes is not a hypocrite for them. He would be a hypocrite when he feels the rules do not apply to him.
A hypocrite pretends to be something they are not or they believe they cannot be judged for what others are judged for.
The scripture is actually saying that our love should not be feigned or pretended, but genuine.
