It is a good moral guide, but since we are no longer under the law, we have freedom to love God and our neighbor. If that bends the rules, it is OK because we walk by faith, not by the law.
We are not going to be rewarded for what we do, but by our faith. So we do what we do because of our faith, our works count for nothing it is only our faith that counts. We do good works because of our faith.
Works with out faith count for nothing.
Once you have trusted Him to save you, We only confess our sins to him to him to bring us back in to fellowship with our heavenly father. We can never be condemned because his blood sacrifice saved us from all sin. There is nothing we could do or not do that would ever condemn us again. He may chasten us if we get to far out of line, but I have been walking with him for 70 years and he is always kind.
