What does the Bible say about a woman that leaves her husband, commits adultery, and then begs his forgiveness and to return to him?

Proverbs 6:32 "But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul."
Proverbs 6:33 "A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away."
That's a hard question and situation!
However, if there is genuine repentance and genuine forgiveness God can heal ANY sorrow. If either partner was of an adulterous nature prior to marriage, a wedding ring and a piece of paper is not going to instill fidelity. Only God's indwelling Holy Spirit can do this.
If there is (was) genuine love in the relationship do not throw it all away because of a stupid mistake. You may never find another love like the one you are about to give up. I'm sure this is devistating yet God's grace is greater than all our sin. Even though you mentioned no circumstances I highly recommend you see a Christian counselor "if" both parties are willing, special emphasis on CHRISTIAN.

If the woman had an affair (adultery), or separated from her first husband, but did NOT remarry, and if both the husband and wife were willing to come back together, the New Testament strongly prioritizes repentance, forgiveness, and repairing the marriage.

In 2 Cor. 5: 18-20, Paul reveals so deeply his heart for reconciliation. In Christ, God was reconciling us and entrusting to us this message of reconciliation. If we have been gifted with this ministry, aren't we bound to reconcile with each other?

In the OT, God used Hosea's painful marriage in which his wife repeatedly committed adultery against her husband to show how deeply it hurts Him when His people are unfaithful, but also to show the staggering scale of His grace, persistent love, and willingness to forgive and reconcile with those who sincerely return to Him.

"It stands as the Bible's ultimate picture of voluntary reconciliation after severe betrayals."

There are OT laws that I am not sure apply today. For example, if the woman didn't have an affair but she actually married someone else before she went crawling back to her first husband, the OT says it would be an abomination to take her back because she has been defiled.

Deuteronomy 24:1–4: If a woman leaves her first husband, marries a second man, and that second marriage ends (by death or divorce), she is strictly forbidden from returning to her first husband. This seems to go against Hosea's message.

I don't think the NT says much about this but focuses on getting the couple back together. I may not have done enough research here. Please speak up and let me know what I have missed. Yes, I am aware of 2 Cor. 7:15f. I just felt I had to stop somewhere. Excellent modern conservative theologians disagree here, and both have legitimate theological views. So, I figure mine doesn't count for much. But I would advise you to read 2 Cor. 7f.
