Kilian Kean

Telecommunications Engineer (Retired)
I submitted to Jesus Christ as Lord in my Junior year of college at USC. I was raised in the Catholic Church but left the church due to discomfort with my confession to a priest, which resulted in my lying to him during the confession. Being a nerd/geek, I read the entire Bible before the Holy Spirit convicted me of my need for a personal relationship with Jesus.

After my conversion, I spent three years under the teaching of David Hocking at Calvary Church of Tustin and then moved to Calvary Chapel under Chuck Smith. After five years under Chuck, God moved my wife and I to the Bay (gray) area in which we continued to be part of Calvary Chapel work. After seven years, God once again moved us to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range to continue His work. I listen to Chuck Smith teachings along with other teachers such as Chuck Missler, Barry Stagner and Don Stewart via MP3 audio. But Chuck is my favorite even though I don't agree with everything his teaches (Allegorical teaching on Song of Solomon).

I've been an engineer in the communications industry for 30 years and a geek since childhood. I love being an engineer as it fits so well with my beliefs. Computers either work or they don't. There is no partial operation, exact operations are required for basic functions. Bugs, hacks, viruses, and voltage fluctuations cause systems to stop working or have degraded performance. Just like being a Christian, there are things in the world that hinder our ability to honor God in our lives. We must remove the junk in order to shine brightly for Christ.

Since Satan can't keep a believer from going to hell, he can hinder the believer from fulfilling all that God has for him and from bringing others to Jesus. As John put it in 1 John 2:15-17, we need to have a loose hold on the things of this world. Are you willing? It's not easy, humility is required. God does not require you to have some skill or ability, He only asks are you willing and available. Isaiah 6:8 God will provide the skills and ability so He will receive the Honor and Glory for the work He does in and through you.

Once a person receives Jesus as Lord, the enemy has lost the battle for that particular soul. However, the enemy's work is not finished as he will hound, oppress, and bring all sorts of frustrations into that believer’s life so they are often times unfruitful. Job 1 & 2 Satan didn't stop at harassing Job, he wanted Job dead!

Matthew 13:18-23 points out that only the seed that fell upon the good ground produced fruit. The other three grounds did not produce any fruit. Granted the first three soils bring up a question if they were saved at all, but I lean towards God's Grace and believe they are saved for it is the free gift of God. Ephesians 2:8-10 Meaning if we could destroy the work of salvation in our lives, salvation would depend upon our efforts or failures, and it would not be the free gift of God. All one needs to do is reach out and receive that gift. Romans 5:12-17

The key is in Matthew 7:13-14. The path of the believer is narrow, difficult and few go that way. After receiving the salvation of God by belief in Jesus' work on the cross, the enemy will work extra hard on keeping that believer from growing, flourishing, and producing fruit as spelled out in Galatians 5:22-23. The display of this fruit is what make people jealous; to have what believers have in life. Romans 11:11-15

The peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippines 4:7 is seen by all, heathen & believers, as we walk in life, and they desire that peace we possess. When they ask why we are not upset, worried, or prepping, we have the opportunity to share. 2 Timothy 4:2
