What will happen to our bodies and souls in the rapture?

In the movie, "The Remaining" the body was left and the soul was taken but in "Left Behind" the body vanished leaving just clothes. Which is more accurate?

Ahh Hollywood, attempting to explain the things of God for us. First, the word rapture is not in the KJV of the Bible. However, in 1Thes4:14-18 we find "caught up" in 2Kings 2:11, where Elijah "went up"these are the same words in Hebrew. So we know there will be a catching away like this!

Our Lord and Saviour died to save us body, soul, and spirit. Why would He change the Dead in Christ who rise first vs 16, but leave our poor bodies behind? 1Cor15:51, this is the mystery! We shall be changed! Vs 52 at the last trump, our bodies will be changed. Praise God!

This is indeed a "rapture" in every sense of the word. For our vile bodies to be changed to incorruptible in the twinkling of the eye. What blessed hope! What comfort!

Be Blessed
Lena

The assumption that we will have a physical body in Heaven may be inaccurate. Being made in the Image of God, who is Spirit, seems to mean that when we are in Heaven we won't have a physical body like we have here on earth.
