Discipline is ideally a purposeful chosen lifestyle of commitment, correction, compliance, and consistency. It is a way of life consciously dedicated to the pursuit of a clearly defined objective or set of objectives. It seeks to attain a certain proficiency with optimal efficiency. It is committed to the operational creed that only the best is good enough.

Given the divine purpose of our human existence to glorify God, our Creator and Re-Creator [Rev. 4:11], we are reminded that whatsoever we do, even in eating and drinking, we are to do all things to the honor and glory of God 1 Cor. 10:31]. Fulfillment of this purpose calls for the productive and Spirit-led discipline of thought, word, and deed, for the active and absolute dedication of body, mind, and soul, and for selfless co-operation with God, in the spirit of willingness, submissiveness, and gladness.
