"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths"(Isaiah 3:12) ✿ This shows the extreme weakness and ruin of Judah in their sinful days. Women and children here might represent weak and inexperienced rulers. It could also refer to the influence of the harem and the females at court, or to the kings and princes of Judah being effeminate. ✿ These weak rulers would lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. This may refer to the prophets and teachers of Judah who were leading sinful lives themselves, flattering the people and promising them safety in their sins (Isa. 9:15; 28:7; Jer. 6:10; 8:10; 14:18; 23:11). ✿ The Lord promised to judge His people for this (Isa. 3:13-15).
