If Elijah the prophet was resurrected back to life he would come back as Elijah.
John the baptist is John the Baptist. He mimicked Elijah. John wasn't under a spiritual spell; he knew what he was doing. He drew attention to his ministry. It worked! Jesus came to him and was baptized.
John the Baptist was beheaded. Elijah was ubered to glory in a fiery vehicle referred to as a chariot. Elijah was given the royal treatment. Why would he then come back here to be beheaded?
"Elijah would you like to go back and be beheaded?" No, I don't think so...
