There are a number of factors that might contribute to how long it takes to feel better again. The most common include: *The quality of your relationship with the deceased. *The amount of personal or vicarious trauma associated with the loss. *The extent of unresolved issues in your relationship with the person whom we lost. * And then the Bible tells us in Ecc. 3 there is a time to mourn, but not a specific time, so I think it just depends, as long as we don't allow ourself's to go into depression, we need to allow God our Savior Jesus Christ to help us through this rough time. I lost my Mom/Best friend as well as my brother two people very dear to my heart and if it was not for the Lord, I would have been one lost puppy. So if you have loss a love one please lean on the Lord, and HE will get you through it. We never ever forget our love ones. I always stand on my scripture Phil 4:13 I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.... God bless you all.
Although I cannot cite a biblical reference for it, my understanding from secular sources is that the Jewish period of mourning after the burial of a deceased spouse (a period known as 'shloshim') is thirty days. (This interval of mourning is mentioned in the Bible, although not in connection with the death of a spouse. For example, the people of Israel mourned for thirty days after the death of Moses (Deuteronomy 34:8).) A longer (twelve-month) period of mourning is associated with the death of a parent or a child, but not (so far as I can determine) with a spouse. Bathsheba is mentioned as having mourned for the death of her husband Uriah (2 Samuel 11:26-27). The length of mourning is not specified, but it had to have been less than eight months, since it occurred entirely between the time that Bathsheba learned that David had made her pregnant and the birth of their child, so a thirty-day period of mourning would also have been consistent with that.
