NKJV - 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

In Matthew 10:28 Jesus is telling His disciples not to fear human persecution which they will encounter while preaching the Word, but rather to fear God who has the power to destroy both body and soul in hell’s fire (Proverbs 9:10).
The devil can and will try to harm us in many ways, but we should not be fearful. We should be fearful only of God who will destroy the wicked in hell, both body and soul.
The text makes it abundantly clear that people will enter hell in bodily form and will be destroyed both soul and body.
