In my opinion, the Bible makes clear that any type of war (regardless of the technology that is available at the time) has been and still is the result of the root conflict between good and evil that began when Satan rebelled against God, and of the sin with which Satan subsequently succeeded in infecting all of humankind. As technology advances, the wars brought on by sinful human actions will only increase in scope and destructiveness (as Jesus predicted in the verse cited in the question). Therefore, nuclear weapons, while not (to my knowledge) specifically prophesied in the Bible, can certainly be seen to be part of this increase. The future might also bring further increases in lethality that we cannot even conceive of at this time, but will definitely culminate in a final war (Revelation 20:7-15) resulting in God's eternal triumph, and the establishment of His rule for eternity, no longer tainted by the presence of sin.
