What should we learn from the tribe of Ephraim?

Genesis 48:20: So he [Jacob- Israel] blessed them that day, saying, “By you Israel will pronounce blessings, saying, ‘God- Yehovah make you like Ephraim and like Manasseh’” Thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

Genesis 48:19: "Ephraim will become a multitude of nations": Note: Jacob blesses Joseph's sons and says of the younger son, Ephraim, that "his descendants will become a multitude of nations" (or a "company of nations" in some translations).

In mainstream biblical Hebrew, goyim refers to nations or Gentile peoples.

Note: God promises Abraham that his offspring will "possess the gate of his enemies"; the Hebrew phrase is וְיִרַשׁ זַרְעֲךָ אֵת שַׁעַר אֹיְבָיו (v'yirash zar'acha et sha'ar oyvav).
• Literal Translation: "And your seed/offspring shall inherit the gate of his enemies."

In the ancient Near East, a city's "gate" was its most critical defensive, political, and economic choke point. Controlling an enemy's gate meant total military victory and political domination.

Ephraim was the offspring of Abraham, who possessed the gates of his enemies.

Bring all this forward to the history of the last 300 years, where England [Ephraim] became a multitude of nations, i.e., member nations of the Commonwealth. As a result, England - Great Britain came under the control of the gates of many nations.

Manasah:

Joseph notices the hand placement and tries to physically move his father's right hand back onto Manasseh [the firstborn son], assuming his blind father made a mistake. Jacob refuses, uttering the famous prophecy: “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; nevertheless, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.” (Genesis 48:19)

Notice it says Manassah shall also become a people and shall become great. The only conclusion one can make is that, in the last 300 years, what nation has become as great as Great Britain's Commonwealth of nations? The answer is obvious. The United States of America.

Does that answer your question?
