The first six chapters of the book of Daniel are a record of the major events that occurred in Babylon during his time. These chapters also record two prophetic visions given to Nebuchadnezzar. The last six chapters of Daniel records the prophetic visions he received from God during his lifetime. They foretell the appearance of major world powers from that period to the end of earth’s history, and they mark the time of the first coming of Jesus Christ. John wrote the book of Revelation using a literary technique called chiasm – it’s organized like a mirror image which divides Revelation into two major segments. The first half covers all of human history - it has not been completely fulfilled yet as there is more history that hasn’t happened yet. The second half deals almost exclusively with last day events that are still to be fulfilled in the future. For an in depth study of both books I suggest Amazing Facts Ministry website where there is a vast amount of free resources available to anyone interested.
