How do we know the Bible is true? (Hebrews 4:12)

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

We know it as a result of prophecies of events that were made hundreds or thousands of years earlier by multiple prophets being fulfilled -- not just events with regard to Israel (including the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ), but also world events involving other peoples or nations. And the Bible's accuracy in that regard allows us to also trust the accuracy of the predictions of end-times events that have not yet occurred, as well as the Bible's statements or guidance regarding human existence, both with respect to this life, and to life in eternity after our earthly lives have ceased.
