Is there a Bible contradiction in Psalm 5:5? Psalm 5:5 states, “You [God] hate all workers of iniquity.” However, John 3:16 says God loves the world. Don’t these verses contradict each other?

Psalm 5:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Psalms 5:5

ESV - 5 The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.

Matthew 7:21-23 Many shall come before me on that day and call me Lord, Lord, and tell me about all their good works. How they prophesied in my name, and cast out demons in my name, and did many wonderful works in my name.

Then will I profess unto them, depart from me ye that work iniquity, I never knew you. Not I did know you and now I don't, I never knew you.

Verse 21. They never did the will of His Father in heaven. John 6:40 and John 6:29. They were trusting in what they did to earn heaven. Not on what Jesus did for us who GIVES eternal life apart from works. Romans 4:5.

They we boasting in their own works. But Lord, Lord, look at what we've done.

If we could be saved by good works, then Jesus died in vain. Good works are fine for the believer for rewards in heaven, never for salvation which can not be earned.

The GIFT of God is eternal life. Not a reward for good behavior, but a free GIFT. Romans 6:23.

A GIFT is paid for in full by the GIVER. Jesus paid our sin debt in full so we could never be condemned to hell again. He took the punishment we deserve so we would not have to go to hell. John 3:18.

Rewards in heaven are for the believer. First Corinthians 3:11-15.

We have His imputed Righteousness in us. Romans 4:6 Perfect righteousness. Unbelievers only have their own righteousness which is filthy rags before God.

Without Holiness no one will see God. His righteousness, Romans 4:6 All believers have His perfect righteousness in us.

All unbelievers are unrighteous in Gods eyes. Those that try to earn their way to heaven by their own works are under the wrath of God.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE; but he that BELIEVETH not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:18. First John 5:13.

There will be prostitutes and drunks in heaven, but all unbelievers will go to hell. John 3:18
