To me, all the elements of spiritual armor mentioned by Paul are encompassed by the acquiring or exhibiting of the attributes of faith, ever-increasing knowledge of God's revealed word as contained in the Bible, and missionary zeal.

Faith results in salvation, imputed righteousness, and endurance in times of trial.

Knowledge of God's word provides a grounding in truth for proper direction or orientation of faith; a means of both refuting and protecting oneself against unscriptural arguments or viewpoints; and a guide for instructing others in leading them to faith and salvation.

Missionary zeal (expressed in Paul's words as readiness) equips the believer with an active desire to apply that guide in teaching and leading others to Christ in obedience to His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
