As I interpret it, Jesus' comparison of the Kingdom of God to yeast was referring to the way in which a small amount of yeast, when placed in a lump of dough that is to be baked, permeates throughout the entire lump during the baking process, causing it to expand and rise into a loaf of bread.

In the same way, the gospel message, which was initially spread by just a small number of Christ's followers in Israel, has been disseminated throughout the entire world, until people of all nations have come to saving faith in Christ.
