What had God promised to the people mentioned in Hebrews 11 that they did not see before dying?

Hebrews 11:13

ESV - 13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

They did not see the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

a) who brought the kingdom of God to earth to advance justice, righteousness, love and faithfulness, while pushing back evil, wickedness, corruption and decay,

b) who defeated sin, death and all forces of evil by his death upon the cross;

c) who was resurrected from the dead to restore the gift of eternal life for all who would believe;

d) who poured out the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers, to make them adopted children of God, to give them a mansion in heaven, and an eternal inheritance in the new heaven and earth.

But they had enough revelation from God to know by faith:
a) that God had prepared a better home for them that would be theirs forever,
b) that God would raise them up to live in the presence of God forever

Jesus said "Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day, he saw it and was glad". The Jewish leaders said "You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham!" Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM!" (John 8:56-58).

I would say that this question is addressed in the same chapter cited in the question, when the writer of Hebrews says in Hebrews 11:16, "Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."
