Suppose this: After Jesus’ birth, Mary, Joseph and Jesus stayed in the area. We know this because the Magi from the east visited them as the star had directed them. I contend it was the house of Lazarus, Martha and Mary’s parents. I further contend that the nard Mary applied to Jesus’ head and feet was one of the gifts that the Magi had given to Jesus during that visit. I have nothing to base my opinion on, but it might have happened that way.
