God does not want Christians to be uncertain about their eternal state. Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." 1 John 5:13 says, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." Do I believe in and confess Jesus as Savior, Lord, and the Son of God? Yes (as I have done numerous times, including (explicitly or implicitly) with every post that I make on this site). Do I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead? Yes Apart from faith in Christ, to what extent am I depending on my own works or merit for my salvation? 0% (Ephesians 2:8-9)("For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.") Therefore, I am 100% certain that I am saved and will have eternal life in His presence (in heaven or on the "new earth" mentioned in Revelation 21) after my earthly life ends.
Josh 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Phil 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. I have no whatsoever problems with my life on the planet earth. I have helped people, empowered them and I am very much satisfied with the direction my life is going. As for after death,I am very much confident that my master is present there to receive me in person.
John 3: 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. I believe everlasting life. It means eternal life in paradise. When on the cross the man next to Jesus asked to remember him to His Father, Jesus responded that today he would be in paradise (paraphrasing).
