Were the saints resurrected when Christ died or after His resurrection?

We have to remember that all of the old testament saints went to paradise in the center of the earth. Jesus told the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise.
Jesus did not ascend to heaven until the transfiguration at his return to heaven.
Jesus took all of the old testament saints out of paradise to heaven.
Now when we die we go straight to heaven. Paul said, absent from the body, present with the Lord. John 3:18.
