When I first became a Christian, I started feeling guilty for some of the crimes I committed. A friend of mine and I shot out windows and sliding glass doors of newly being built houses behind my house. We did this with bb gun rifles and a pellet gun rifle at night. There were maybe 5 houses. It was more than one night's work, as I recall. But then the police came around door-to-door and asked each family if their kid had done it. I said "no."

But then I got saved and called the contractor and confessed my crime. He asked if I knew how much damage I had caused. "No, how much"? I asked. "$5,000 worth," he replied. "Okay," I said, "I'll pay it back if it takes the rest of my life." He said, "Forget it kid" (I was 21), "the insurance company already paid for it."

I take this as God's mercy on me as a new Christian.
