The grievous error of Christian and non-Christian alike is to become enamored with mysticism, astrology, ghosts, spirits, demons and the like. We are told that we Christians sometimes "entertain angels, unaware," Hebrews 13:2. What most people fail to recognize is that they entertain the demonic unaware, often in a playful mood, conducting seances, meddling with Kreskin's ESP, Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards, and other blasphemous items and experiences that invite demonic oppression. The results are devastating. The demonic leads the seeker into believing that everything is OK, it is just a game and similar, until the person becomes utterly deceived, captured in an anti-God reality. We cannot be warned enough about blasphemous demonic activity. Don't go there! www.booksie.com/Don_Watson
There is also a danger of dabbling in the paranormal by becoming enamored with so called aliens and UFOs. Science fiction is infested with this form of demonic subterfuge. It is an extremely insidious lie that often gets a pass because of the allusion to science and logic based on the Godless theory of evolution.
We must be careful to define the word "paranormal" correctly. For instance, an experience such as seeing what appears to be an angel of God may be excluded from the definition. Miraculous healings after praying to God, and other miracles of Christianity should also be excluded. True paranormal activity is a serious matter and should always be reported to your pastor or priest. Do not keep any paranormal occurrence a secret. It must be suppressed and hopefully eliminated. A schedule of group prayer may be needed to eradicate this kind of evil. Christians are in a perpetual war with iniquity in high places and the enemy is highly clever in using the paranormal to gain an advantage or foothold over unwary Christians.
I am a paranormal investigator and have first hand experience with it. Our team is called, "Revelation Paranormal" and we are all Christians. We are also retired Police Officers. Paranormal activity is extremely rare, most reported cases being attributed to someone imagining they are seeing or hearing something paranormal. Possibly influenced by the influx of movies about the subject, they believe they have an infestation. However, there are those few cases that are real and in my experience, are demonic. When we encounter these in people's homes, we remove them through the power of Jesus and help those people get back to living a normal life again. These infestations are horribly frightening and life threatening. As they have no physical form, local authorities can not help. God bless!
Consider: In John 3:2 Nicodemas said to Christ: "The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." Consider: Judas was one of the original 12 who was empowered and instructed in Matthew 20:8 "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." Was Nicodemas' assessment of Christ correct? Yes in that he truly had God with him yet he at that time obviously did not know Christ was God incarnate. Would most have assumed Judas was a man of God? Sure, based on miracles or workings he may have performed. After all, he was with the "in group". I personally believe there is a valuable lesson here. Miracles either actual or supposed are not within themselves conclusive, concrete evidence that the individual is truly born again, born from above. People especially in this age are looking for something sensational, extraordinary. Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." " Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." (James 2:19) So what? "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) Although I watch very little tv I have noticed it is inundated with cultic, supernatural junk. Christians, do not watch this junk and for goodness sakes don't let your little ones watch it! It is all of the devil who is getting mankind mentally prepared for his grand appearance. 2 Thessalonians 2 THE MAN OF LAWLESSNESS 1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
