If the Old Testament can be used as an example, Numbers 8:24-26 indicated that Levites had to retire from active service at age fifty. (They could assist but could no longer serve full-time.) (I am citing this with regard to the principle of retirement, rather than to a specific required retirement age.)

(Of course, retirement decisions for individual ministers will also be affected by the policies and practices of the particular denomination in which they serve.)

In my opinion, a balance should be struck between allowing ministers to practice as long as they are willing and able, while also still allowing ample opportunities for younger ministers to be ordained and gain their own experience.
