What was the timeline of Aaron meeting Moses on Mt. Sinai?

Exodus 4:14 states that Aaron was on his way to meet Moses on Mt. Sinai. Then in Exodus 4:18, Moses returned to Jethro and asked if he could return to his people. Then, in Exodus 4:27, it says God spoke to Aaron and told him to go into the wilderness to meet Moses. So he went and met him on the mountain of God.

Was this two meetings between Moses and Aaron, or a reflection back to the first meeting in verse 4:14?

ESV - 1 Then Moses answered, "But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, 'The Lord did not appear to you.' 2 The Lord said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A staff.

As mentioned in one of the commentaries concerning Exodus 4:14 that can be found on the biblehub.com website, one biblical scholar (Rabbi Mose ben Nachman) suggested reconciling the accounts as follows: "As soon as Aaron heard that his brother had left Midian, he went to meet him of his own accord, and then God showed him by what road he must go to find him, viz., towards the desert."
