How can we apply these words in Psalm 24 to our life, if any?

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah (Psalm 24:7 - 24:10 KJV)

Psalms 24:7

KJV - 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

My understanding is that this psalm was written by David in celebration of the Ark of the Covenant (a visible symbol of the Lord's presence) once again returning to Israel after having been in the hands of the Philistines.

Although having thus been written in connection with a specific occurrence in biblical times, the psalm might also be viewed in a broader sense as expressing thanksgiving to God by a Christian of any age for circumstances or events that plainly indicate the favorable working of God in that Christian's life, especially after a period in which the Christian might not have been so perceptive of indications of God's involvement.

God has prepared everything for those who have faith and believe His words.

Jesus came and sacrificed His life. The sun was darkened on the day of redemption. Hell lost all its right to us and we are in heaven.

The King of Glory, the Lord of Might has entered in. It is finished.

The Gift of gifts has been offered. Will you accept Him?

Psalm 24:4: He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

In the Psalm of David, who was revealed by the Lord God, if anyone who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up their soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully, shall receive the salvation of God the Father. The salvation of God the Father today is significant for the end times. For “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord, and who shall stand in His Holy place?” (Psalm 24:3-4) As our Lord Jesus took Peter, James, and John to a high mountain and was transfigured before them, Moses and E-li’-as, there appeared unto them talking with our Lord Jesus. God the Father then said unto them, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” (Mat 17:1-5) A time came then when the disciples followed Lord Jesus as they left the temple, He then sat on the Mount of Olives. They asked, “When will the sign of your coming and the end of the world be?” Lord Jesus then said many shall come in my name to deceive, and you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, nations shall rise against nations, kingdom against kingdom. There shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places, for these are the beginning of sorrows. (Mat 24:3-7)

This was the Mount Lord Jesus, when He ascended, was then taken up in the cloud that received Him. The apostles, who were the disciples, then came down from this mount called Olivet, which is the Mount of Olives. (Acts 1:9,12) The second coming of our Lord Jesus will be in the clouds of heaven, for the elect, the chosen, for those days shall be shortened. The dead who shall rise first and those who are with a clean heart will be raptured from the earth. (Mat 24:22,29-31/1 Thess 4:16-17) The ones who are left behind during the tribulation period of those days, the two who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord, and stand in His holy place, are Moses and Elijah. These are the two witnesses, for they shall then prophecy’ a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. They shall have power to shut the heavens, that it rains not, power over waters to turn them to blood, smite the earth with plagues, in the days of their prophecy. (Psalm 24:3/Rev 11:3,6/Mat 17:3)

The two witnesses, Moses and Elijha as they shall prophesy, and preach the word of God for repentance, the beast who is the antichrist, shall make war against them and kill them. (Rev 11:3,7) These blessings that shall come for repentance shall be for the left-behind generation who shall then seek Him to deliver them from the evil man, from the man that speaketh perverse things. For the evil men who shall leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness, to do evil. (Pro 2:10-14) One who then holds their tongue shall have the everlasting doors, leading to a pure, clean heart; the King of Glory shall then come in you. (Psalm 24:8-9) For the Lord God who then searches the heart and tries the reins, gives every man according to their ways, and according to the fruit of their doings. (Jer 17:10) For then, those who are left behind after the rapture of the church, and have the right discernment, and have not taken the mark of the beast (Rev 13:15-16,18), you shall flee the valley of the mountain, as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uz-zi’-ah king of Judah, and the Lord God with all the saints shall come unto thee. (Zec 14:5)

Matthew 16:28: Verily I say unto you, "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."
