Being a new born again believer, there are parts of the Bible that quite literally scare me. I have gone from living a life for 27 years that has been in rebellion to God, to now reading the Bible every day. When I read passages such as Luke 11 verse 24-26 ““Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”” Other scriptures are also scary, such as the ones which talk about the grass and the wheat and being burned up… How can I be sure that I won’t be in that dreadful state one day? It scares me to think it.
Luke 11:1 - 54
NLT - 1 Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.

One of the reasons that the accounts of the life of Jesus found in the New Testament are called the gospels (meaning "good news") is precisely because they tell how God's grace (that is, His undeserved love and mercy) has made it possible for us to escape an eternal destiny that should justifiably frighten anyone who fully appreciates it -- eternal separation from Him. God Himself has made that possible through the incarnation and sinless life of Christ, and through having Him pay the full, just penalty for the sins of all humanity by His suffering and death, followed by His resurrection, which attested to the sufficiency of that payment in God's eyes. Through faith in that atonement (rather than depending on their own imperfect works), Christians can obtain eternal life in God's presence, and have fearless confidence that they will never face the judgment that Jesus took in their place. John 3:16 John 5:24 Romans 8:33-34
Jesus Himself said, "Do not be afraid" more than once! 1 Corinthians 13:11,12: "When I was a child, I spoke as a child...for now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, just as I am known." Everyone has to choose to accept the call and offer of salvation or to reject the call. Genesis 3:10: "I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." (God knows everything about everyone) 1 Chronicles 29: 15: "For we are aliens and pilgrims before you, as were our fathers..." (He understands) Know this, you found God. And you found Him because He wanted you to find Him. Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you." Isaiah 45:2: "Let us not fear punishment. I go before you and level uneven places." This promise is from God. I think you may be referring to Isaiah 40:7, or 40:24 when you talk about the grass and the wheat burned up. I believe these verses are speaking about the wrath of God on the wicked in the tribulation. But, remember, you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit because of your faith! 2 Corinthians 1:21,22: "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has annointed us in God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." This sealing is a guarantee of life eternal for believers. 1Thessalonians 5:9: "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." If by "impure spirits" you mean evil or unclean know this...1Timothy 4:1: "Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter Times, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." (All Christians are in a battle every day.) Look at 1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant. Job chapter 1:6-12, Satan is under God's authority! Mark 1:27: "Then they were all amazed...for with authority He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey Him." 1 John 4:1: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits, whether they are of God." If it does not line up with your Bible, do not trust it. Stand on Romans 8:38. NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
