How can we know what causes the delay?

ESV - 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. Daniel 10:5: "I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist." Daniel 10:12: "’Don't be afraid Daniel,’ he said to me, ‘for from the first day that you purposed to understand and humble yourself before God, your prayers were heard.'" Daniel 10:13: "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days. But Michael, one of the chief princes came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia." Daniel 10:20: "He said, 'Do you know why I've come to you? I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I leave the prince of Greece will come.’" Job 2 :2: "’Where have you come from?’ the Lord asked Satan.’" “Satan replied, ‘From roaming through the earth and walking around on it.’" Satan has access to God! The demons of Satan's kingdom are always at war against God's people there is constant spiritual warfare going on. Revelation 12:7: "Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon. The Dragon and his angels fought against Michael." Ephesians 6:10-18: We all need to arm ourselves for spiritual warfare. We pur on the armor of God. We are fighting from victory, not for victory. When we are dressed for victory our prayers are heard. Our mind must be saturated in the Word, and our hearts filled with God's love. Our faith is in our Glorious Savior. Therefore we are victorious over any demon and Satan. The epic battle is raging every minute. We have to be intentional. 1 John 2:1: "We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous." Jesus said in John 24:16, "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever." No demon can keep our prayers from God. He can perhaps try.
God answers prayer when He desires to do so. Demons have absolutely nothing to do with His decisions.
