How can we "live in love'? (1 John 4:16)

NLT
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

Your question: How can we "live in love"? (1 John 4:16)

In order to know the answer to your question, you must distinguish between the love that is generated through the flesh and the love God places in your heart by his Holy Spirit. Once you know the difference between the two, then you will understand how the children of God are able to live in HIS LOVE.
Christ told us that the peace he gives is not the peace the world possesses.

John 14:2:7 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth.

The peace that Christ speaks of is the peace he sows within our hearts by the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The love God places within us is not that of the world but that which comes from God through His Holy Spirit.

John wrote the following:
1 John 2:15: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

If you will notice, even the apostle spoke of how God’s love abides in us. The question you need to ask yourself is whether the love within your heart is placed there by God, or are you still trying to live for God through the flesh?
