Why did God call the people "Virgin Israel"? (Jeremiah 31:4)
Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord appeared to us in the past,[a] saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. 4 I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.

The Bible using ''virgin Israel'' means comparison. It's comparing how one must deny/purge their old sinful ways and move in God's pure and holy nature just like the purity of a virgin.
