As believers we are to seek the Lord while we can. For we know that God's thoughts are not like our thoughts. What are we to do to understand Him? John 10:30: "I and the Father are one." Jesus told us this. In Jesus' prayer in John chapter 17, Jesus said, "You Father are in Me, and I am in You." He prays that all believers have unity with Him and the Father. We are to be of a like spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:16: "For who has known the Lord's mind, that He may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." How are we to know? Look to Jesus, study His life. I would also suggest this. Deuteronomy 29:29: "The hidden things belong to our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow..." In our Bible Saint Paul revealed the mysteries of God. These mysteries, I feel reveal the thoughts of God. I suggest you study the "mysteries" revealed by Paul. I will list them here. Romans 11:25; Romans 16:25; 1 Corinthians 2:7; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52; Ephesians 1:9,10; Ephesians 3:1-3; Ephesians 6:19; and Colossians 1:26. Remember this, Galatians 1:12: (Paul writes) "For I did not receive it from a human source and I was not taught it, but it came by a revelation of Jesus Christ." Paul was taught by Jesus, who has the same mind as God. 2 Corinthians 12:1, Paul says, "Boasting is necessary. It is not profitable, but I will move on to visions and revelations of the Lord." The Bible is a love letter from God.

My answer is very short and simple. The Bible is the revealed will of God. It is through His Word that we know how He thinks and what is in His heart! It is the Holy Spirit that interprets the Word of God for us because it is spiritually discerned! Here are some scriptures to read: Isaiah 55:8-9, and 1Corinthians 2:9-16.

How can we know God's thoughts? (Psalm 92:4-5) Psalm 92:5 says God's thoughts are "profound," deep beyond full human grasp. Yet Scripture shows several ways we can truly know them, though not exhaustively. I will list a few. 1. Through God's works (general revelation). Creation reveals God's power and wisdom (Psalm 19:1-2; Romans 1:20). By studying what He has made, we learn something of His order and character. 2. Through Jesus Christ (special revelation). John 1:18 says, "No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son has made him known." Jesus is the exact representation of God's nature (Hebrews 1:3), so to know Jesus' words and actions is to know God's thoughts. 3. Through the Holy Spirit. First Corinthians 2:10-11 teaches that the Spirit searches "the deep things of God" and reveals them to believers. This is not private revelation but understanding and applying what God has already disclosed in Scripture. Ultimately, knowing God's thoughts leads to worship. As Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, His thoughts are higher than ours, yet He graciously makes them known to us through creation, Jesus, and the Spirit. I love hymns! The hymn, "Deeper, Deeper," by Steven Anderson says it all: https://open.spotify.com/track/3NfOkcMc0nf3Rennu4dH8k Or with lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1JEGPdb1Ec&list=RDN1JEGPdb1Ec&start_radio=1 Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus Daily let me go; Higher, higher in the school of wisdom, More of grace to know. Refrain O deeper yet, I pray, And higher every day, And wiser, blessèd Lord, In Thy precious, holy Word. Deeper, deeper, blessèd Holy Spirit, Take me deeper still, Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus, And His perfect will. Refrain Deeper, deeper! Though it cost hard trials, Deeper let me go! Rooted in the holy love of Jesus, Let me fruitful grow. Refrain Deeper, higher, every day in Jesus, Till all conflict past, Finds me conqu’ror, and in His own image Perfected at last. Refrain Deeper, deeper in the faith of Jesus, Holy faith and true; In His pow’r and soul exulting wisdom Let me peace pursue. Refrain
