Genesis 3:1 - 24
ESV - 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'? 2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden.

Genesis 2:16-17. "Lord God commanded the man, saying".
Genesis 2:17. "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it".
Eve had not yet been created. So God did not command the woman saying "Thou shalt not eat of it".
Adam was not present when the "Serpent" spoke to Eve! So the "Serpent' did not speak to Adam.
Only God knows!
If Adam was not next to Eve when she ate the fruit, then how did she give him it?
