Where was Adam when Eve ate the forbidden fruit?

Genesis 3:1 - 24

ESV - 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'? 2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden.

An additional note: When Eve took the forbidden fruit, Adam was not yet her Ruler (until verse 16) and so was not liable for her action. Also, earlier in vss. 2&3 in Eve's response to the serpent she had also heard or knew from Adam that the tree was forbidden. She did not lie or stretch the truth (which would have been a sin) because sin had not yet started until she took the forbidden fruit. Eve was deceived but Adam was not; he took the fruit purposely.(I Tim.2:14 "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.").

I quote this directly from my NKJV Bible footnote. Genesis 3:6: "Notice the parallel to 2:6; this tree was like the other trees. It was good for food. These words imply that this was the first time Eve considered disobeying God's command. After all there was nothing in the tree that was poisonous or harmful, and it was desirable. The issue was one of obedience and disobedience to the Word of God. She took the first step. She ate.: The final step. Once she disobeyed God, all the world changed. (Note Romans 5:12 speaks of the sin of Adam rather than the sin of Eve.). Because she did not die, she gave it to her husband. And he ate."

Look at that last sentence, she gave it to her husband. He was evidently right near her! She handed the fruit to him.

Adam sinned with his eyes wide open. He did not contemplate the situation. He knew what God had told him!

One more point I would have you consider. Back up to Genesis 2:21,22: "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man."

Genesis 2:15,16, "The Lord God, took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, 'Of the tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you will surely die.'"

Eve was not "born" here. She was still inside of Adam! She had not been created.

1 Corinthians 15:22; "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive."

Notice "in Adam"... notice "in Christ"... Death and life...you choose...
