Yes Im sure God does still use miracles today in His own good will, I used to think i spoke in tongues and even translated, but then one day it was placed on my heart to stop as i was talking in a child like Gibberish and I was also translating Gibberish, recently an experiment was carried out in a Church meeting, a well educated Pastor recited our Lords prayer,. Our Father who art in Heven,..in Latin, some one in the meeting 'like i used to do' translated Gods prayer into utter made up rubbish, because he did not know the experiment was in Latin 'how embarrassing. We must be very careful, Tongues was a real language used to convey the good news of the gospel message in a proper native language to glorify God, not as some charismatic and other movements do today, sadly they really do think they can speak in another language when all it really does amont to is vodo gibberish, please look into it. With love Paul
A spiritual gift is a “manifestation of the Spirit [of God] given to each one for the profit of all (I Corinthians 12:7). Unlike a natural ability, a spiritual gift is a supernatural ability that God gives to a believer. God gives spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church (see I Corinthians 14:12) and to build up the Body of Christ in love and unity, “that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ” (I Peter 4:11). The gifts are expressions of God’s nature, given to equip believers to fulfill His purposes on the earth. Spiritual gifts are not synonymous with the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22–23.) Spiritual gifts are sovereign manifestations of the presence and power of God to meet present needs. God’s love initiates and assigns the gifts, and the gifts reveal His love and demonstrate His glory. God has given us spiritual gifts for many purposes. Ultimately, all of these gifts have been provided to equip us to glorify God. The gifts of the Spirit were given “for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, (Ephesians 4:12–13, 15) Spiritual gifts are not primarily given to benefit the individual, but the entire body. If spiritual gifts are given to enable us to carry out every essential function of the body then we should expect spiritual gifts t which correspond to every function described in the Scriptures. This is precisely the case. God equips believers for their tasks through the gift of the Holy Spirit and a variety of spiritual gifts. Each gift is valuable because the members of the Church need one another in order to function as a whole.
