People are much less! They are like ·insects [maggots].
    They are only worms!”

No one can deny that, even though humans were created in God's image, God Himself is infinitely higher and greater than they are, and they thus might be viewed in the negative perspective expressed by Bildad. (David expressed a similar attitude when he said (Psalm 22:6), "But I am a worm and no man.")

At the same time, however (and contrary to Bildad's reasoning),
God loved humanity so much (even after its universal fall into sin) that He was willing to incarnate and sacrifice His own Son so that those same humans could spend eternity with Him.

And, even though that salvation had not yet been fulfilled in Job's time, and even though God allowed Job to experience extreme suffering, Job showed an understanding of God's overall plan by maintaining his faith in God, and referring to Him as his redeemer, as noted in Job 19:25-27.
