The Bible is clear that all people are God's creation (Colossians 1:16), and that God loves the entire world (John 3:16), but only those who are born again are children of God (John 1:12; 11:52; Ro...

We were all God's children until the fall in the Garden. Then sin (evil) came Into being and two paths developed. The narrow one that leads to eternal life with the acceptance of God (Jesus) and the wide path with the acceptance of the World (Satan). According to he New Testament, and Jesus' conversation with Nicodimas, you must be born again in the Spirit of truth (Jesus). Jesus is the only Way, the only Life and the only truth, for there is no other way. The Jews, as God's chosen people, will be shown the way before His second coming and they too will know that Jesus Christ is Lord of all and they will accept Him also.

Are we all God's children, or only Christians?

All humans are God's creation: Every person is made in the image and likeness of God, meaning everyone possesses intrinsic worth and value.

The Bible teaches that one becomes a spiritual child of God through faith and adoption. According to this view, people are not born into God's family automatically; rather, they are "adopted" through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Verses like John 1:12 emphasise that people gain the right to become children of God specifically by receiving and believing in Jesus Christ. John 1:12-13 ESV: "But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name. 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

These verses show that, to begin with, the followers of Jesus were not sons of God. Before Christ's coming to earth, neither such sonship nor a heavenly hope had been open to humans.

Spiritually, the Bible portrays humanity as being separated from God by sin. People become true children of God through a specific, spiritual adoption.

Paul emphasises in Romans 8:14 that those whom the Spirit of God leads are the actual children of God, thereby allowing believers to call God "Abba, Father" intimately.

The Bible says, "Those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God" (Romans 9:8). The Bible also declares to the sinner who humbles himself before the Lord, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).
