Not only was He present, He is "the Creator of all things". When you consider that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one being it makes sense.

Eph 3:7-11
"Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:"

Col 1:14-20
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven."

The foundational testimony reveals that the divine agent of creation, who spoke the universe into existence and personally fashioned humanity, is none other than the eternal Word made flesh. The Scriptures declare that all things were made by and for Him, establishing His supreme authority as the source and sustainer of all life.

This profound truth is elaborated through inspired writings that depict creation as a collaborative labor of love, where the One who set the stars in place also shaped the first humans with His own hands, embedding His character of order, beauty, and benevolence into the fabric of the natural world.

This intrinsic link between creation and redemption is the grand narrative: the very hand that molded Adam from the dust would one day be pierced on a cross. The sacrificial system, instituted at humanity’s fall, was a prophetic shadow pointing forward to the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The blood shed at Calvary was not a divine afterthought but the revealed purpose of the Creator's heart from the beginning. Thus, the logic of salvation is rooted in His creative authority—the One who brought life into being alone possessed the power to lay down His own life to redeem it. The signs of this integrated purpose are evident today: the intricate design and fine-tuning of the cosmos point to a Master Designer, while the human conscience and universal search for atonement reflect the innate imprint of a moral lawgiver and a promised redeemer. The weekly memorial of rest, ordained at creation’s culmination, stands as a perpetual sign of the covenant, binding together His identity as Creator and Redeemer, and calling for worship grounded in the complete work of the One who formed us, sustains us, and repurchased us.

This complete narrative—from Genesis to Revelation—is succinctly captured in the declaration, "For by him all things were created... and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross" (Colossians 1:16, 20). Thus, the signs of His creative power in the finely-tuned universe and the human yearning for restoration together affirm that the Architect of the world is also its Redeemer, and the weekly memorial of rest stands as a perpetual covenant sign of His completed work as both Maker and Savior.
