Start by reading and understanding the story if the Good Samaritan, then realize that everyone other than yourself is your neighbor.
So every time you see someone in need and you are in a position to help, offer help! It's that simple. If you only help those who call themselves Christians then you are no better than anyone who is an extreme Jew or extreme Muslim or extreme Atheist!
Christianity is about LOVE so love your self and then love your neighbor as you love yourself. That is what Jesus said!
