To "receive Christ Jesus as Lord" means you personally welcome Him as your Messiah, your risen Savior, and your absolute Master. All at once. It is more than believing facts. It is a heart embrace. It's not merely intellectual--believing in your mind that God exists, that Christ exists and maybe even is loving. I say there's a difference between head faith and heart faith. That's a difference of 18 inches. You actually can miss Heaven by 18 inches! Faith is a matter of the heart!

The Greek word for "received" is paralambanō (παραλαμβάνω). It means to take hold of, to welcome. As John 1:12 says, those who receive Him become children of God. Personal faith commitment begins the moment you stop running your own life and trust His finished work.

Three components of genuine reception (Acts 3:19; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 15:3-4):

1. Repentance – turning from self-rule (Acts 3:19)

2. Faith – resting on His death and resurrection (1 Cor 15:3-4)

3. Confession – openly declaring Him as Lord (Rom 10:9-10)

Paul then says, "so walk in Him." Your daily life simply continues the same trust and surrender you started with.

Have you ever truly received Jesus as Lord, not just as a helper but as your King? You can do that right now. Tell Him, "Jesus, I turn from my own way. I trust You as my Savior and Master. Lead me." That is the beginning. Now walk with Him.
