What is the difference between the soul and heart? Is there actually a difference?
Matthew 22:37 - 40
ESV - 37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment.

Anthony, I looked up both words in my Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary and the Greek word "psuche" is used for both. So, there is no difference between the two. They both signify "the center of man's inward life." The seat of our will, mind, and emotions. These three components of mankind, have to do with our desires, also how we think and how we feel; known as the soul. We are triune beings, spirit, soul, and body. There is another Greek word that is also used for heart, which is "kardia." The context of scripture will always determine which word best conveys the message of the writer.
