Pre-evangelism means different things to different people. Some see pre-evangelism as doing what Paul did with the philosophers at Mars Hill. He began with what they knew about an "unknown God" and...

There are lots of ways to evangelism. Using biblical tracts with Romans 6:23 is a great way. Or John 3:16-18. That eternal life is a free gift from God by faith alone in Jesus finished work on the cross alone apart from our works. Romans 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. One I really like is a tract that tells how when we buy a house we usually have to make a loan that we have to pay back, and when it is paid for we celebrate that the debt is paid. Then how Jesus paid the debt of sin we have accumulated all our lives. First Corinthians 15:3-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. That Jesus paid the sin debt of everyone in the world, First John 2:2, so that anyone who would believe it would be saved. John 3:16-18. When the Philippian jailor asked Paul, what must I do to be saved? Paul answered, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house. Direct and to the point.
I often wondered why I love the Lord Jesus yet many I come into contact with do not or don't see the blessings which flow from following our Lord. Like I was 40 years ago, their gods are wealth, sports, sex. The bible to many is a boring book written by a group of old folk over 3,000 years with nothing better to do. The media doesn't help much by continually promoting this lack of faith via: 1. Telling us that creation can be explained without the need of any God and our educational systems promote this by ramming evolutionary/Darwinism down the throats of our young. The take home message is that there was no Adam and Eve and therefore no need of a savior. 2. Humans are basically good and if we are good guys and get 51% from God (if He exists) for our good deeds then bingo Heaven is ours if it exists. Whoopee! 3. Believing in God is not a good thing; just look at the suffering caused by the crusades, inquisition, 9/11, Isis, pedophilia in the churches etc. Therefore religion or belief in a God is not a good thing for humanity. And if you do believe, which God should one choose with the millions around? It is no wonder there is so much confusion and deafness around relating to our one true God, Jesus Christ. As Christians we need to address the 3 points made above and point out that Christ will come to anyone who is open to His calling. And once you have Christ in your life and the wonderful Holy Spirit, there will never be any further confusion because you will know that Jesus Christ is the way, truth and life (John 14;6) without a shadow of doubt as you enjoy a deep, lasting love relationship with Him.
